It starts with a phone call.
Every family in this story can name the moment. The call that came during dinner. The gift cards found in the glovebox. The wire that left on a Tuesday and was unrecoverable by Thursday. Fraud against older adults takes billions every year — and the cruelest part isn't the money. It's what happens after: the shame that keeps it secret, the children who start hovering, the independence that quietly drains away along with the savings.
The industry's answer has mostly been surveillance in one direction or control in the other. Alert apps that text you after the money is gone. Managed cards that treat a grown adult like a child with an allowance. Both miss the same truth: the person being protected is a person — with a lifetime of competence behind them and, usually, decades of good decisions still ahead.
So we built a firewall the owner holds.
GuardCircle is a consent-based family financial firewall. The owner chooses the safeguards, chooses the people, and can see every action anyone takes — forever, in a record that mathematically cannot be quietly rewritten. Family members are trusted allies with narrow, logged powers: they answer safety checks; they don't run anyone's life.
The mechanics follow one insight: almost every scam ends with money leaving for somewhere new. So everyday spending flows untouched — the groceries, the pharmacy, lunch with the ladies — while new destinations, unusual amounts, and the scammer's favorite exits (gift cards, crypto, wires) pause for a quick family OK. Most of the money rests behind a door no phone call can open. A held purchase isn't a scolding; it's one tap-able question and a 30-minute window. We measure ourselves on how rarely we interrupt, not how often.
"We say safety check, never permission. She built the house. She keeps the keys."
Why the circle doesn't close.
Look closely at our mark: two arms encircle a still center — and the circle deliberately never closes. That gap is the whole philosophy drawn in one gesture. Protection that seals is a cage. Protection that breathes is care. The door stays open because the person inside is free; the arms stay near because the family is present. We drew it before we named it, and it has vetoed feature ideas ever since — anything that would close the circle doesn't ship.
What we hold ourselves to.
Where we are, plainly.
GuardCircle is a working platform in private pilot: real family logins, live bank monitoring, real text-and-call safety alerts, ScamCheck, approval windows, and the tamper-evident record — with money-movement features running in a controlled test environment while we finalize licensed banking partners for custody and the GuardCircle card. We're inviting a small number of founding families to shape what ships next. Small on purpose: we build this with families, not on them.
Help us build it right.
Founding families get direct access to the people making this, and founding pricing for life.
